- Installing Pronto Mail:
- ------------------------

- General
- -------

- Pronto Mail installation will install one of three possible
- editions of our product:
-
- 1. Pronto Family - Requires Windows 95 with 16MB memory or more
- 2. Pronto Pro - Requires Windows 95
- 3. Pronto Lite - Requires Windows 3.x
-
- The product that will be installed depends on your
- preference and on the minimal system requirements:
-
- - If Windows 3.x is installed on your PC, the lite version will be
- installed.
- - If Windows 95 is installed on your PC, and you have less than
- 16MB of memory, Pronto Pro will be installed.
- - If Windows 95 is installed on your PC, and you have 16MB of
- memory or more, you can choose to install either Pronto Pro
- or Pronto Family.

- Note for Windows 3.x users:
-
- In the near future, a free 16-Bit version of Pronto Pro will
- replace Pronto Lite. This version will offer a much improved
- user interface and the full set of features available in the
- 32-bit editions of Pronto.
- Upon first run, Pronto Lite asks you to fill in a registration
- form. If you fill-in the registration details appropriately,
- you will be notified when Pronto Pro 16-bit edition becomes
- available.

- To Install with MS Windows 3.x (Pronto Lite):
- ---------------------------------------------

- 1. Insert your product CD-ROM into the appropriate CD drive.
- 2. Open the Program Manager window.
- 3. From the Program Manager main menu, select File, then Run.
- The Run dialog appears.
- 4. In the Command Line edit box enter the following text:
- d:\pronto\setup
- Note: if your CD drive letter is different then D:, use
- the right letter instead (for example enter
- e:\pronto\setup if your CD drive is E:)
- 5. Follow the installation instructions.
- 6. After the installation is completed, a new program group
- window will appear, named Pronto Lite.
- 7. Click the Pronto icon in this group to start the program
- for the first time.

- To Install with Windows 95:
- ---------------------------

- 1. Insert your product CD-ROM into the appropriate CD drive.
- The installation program should start automatically, and
- you can continue directly with step 4 below.
- Continue with steps 2,3 only if for some reason the
- installation program did not start.
- 2. On the TaskBar, click start menu and select Run...
- 3. In the Open edit box enter the following text:
- d:\pronto\setup
- Note: if your CD drive letter is different then D:, use
- the right letter instead (for example enter
- e:\pronto\setup if your CD drive is E:)
- 4. Follow the installation instructions.
- 5. After the installation is completed a new shortcut with Pronto
- icon appears.
- 6. Click the Pronto icon to start the program for the first time.

- First-Time running (Pronto-Pro and Pronto-Family Only)
- ------------------------------------------------------
- Your CD installation pre-configures Pronto with some of the
- right parameters to connect with your Internet Service Provider.
- When the program is invoked for the first time, it displays
- a series of dialogs which help you setup the program.
- The values for the pre-configured parameters will appear already
- filled-in. It is recommended NOT to change those values unless
- you are experienced with these settings.
